Jeevika Campaign organised a demonstration at Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Headquarters
 Jeevika campaign facilitated a mass demonstration at JMC head office on 20 April 2011. More than 500 street vendors from different areas of the city participated in the demonstration demanding the implementation of the Rajasthan State Urban Street Vendor Policy 2007 (Pheriwalon Ka Sansar). A group of street vendors’ representatives (Amit Kumar Gond, Banwari Sharma, Nathu Singh Rathore, Om Prakash Chipa) met the CEO and submitted a formal memorandum. The CEO promised not to evict street vendors and in return requested that vendors maintain cleanliness and decorum in public areas. He also promised to start work under the provisions of the state policy soon. Read more >>
School Choice Campaign (SCC) organised a Principal's Forum under the School Voucher for Girls (SVG) pilot
 School owners from 13 empanelled schools of the SVG attended the second annual Principal's Forum on 15 April 2011. The Forum focused on Right To Education (RTE) Act and its impact on budget private schools besides being a platform for providing feedback on the voucher pilot.  SCC and GMC organised a Leadership Training Program for school leaders as part of GMC's School Ratings pilot in Delhi on 14 April 2011. 16 empanelled schools were represented in the program. See Photos >>

In a letter titled 'India's Economy Grows Despite Educational Problems', Parth Shah outlines how the story of education in India is a paradox. Twenty percent of Indians get a fairly decent education, and in a nation of 1.2 billion, this is a huge number and helps to explain why India has become the back office of the world. Your article "India Graduates Millions, But Too Few Are Fit to Hire" (page one, April 5), however, has captured the dilemma of the other 80%, who get a very poor education and end up unemployable.  Philanthropy in India so far has been what we call feel-good philanthropy, instead of outcome or results-based philanthropy, said Parth J Shah, President, Centre for Civil Society, a New Delhi research organisation. CCS and International Property Rights Index (IPRI) relseased 2011 IPRI Report
 CCS released the 2011 International Property Rights Index (IPRI), which measures the intellectual and physical property rights of 129 nations from around the world on 22 March 2011. This year, 67 international organisations, including CCS, partnered with the Property Rights Alliance in Washington, DC and its Hernando de Soto Fellowship program to produce the fifth annual IPRI. Jeevika Campaign organised three workshops for street vendor leaders in Jaipur
 Jeevika campaign organised three workshop on Urban Street Vendor Policy for street vendor leaders of Jaipur on 27 March (full day) and 10 April (two half day) 2011. 12 street vendor leaders from different parts of the city participated in the workshops. The leaders consented to connect with more street vendors and strengthen their inactive unions as well as meet with officials in their respective zones and submit memorandums demanding the implementation of the Street Vendor Policy 2007, which is already in effect in the state.

 Jeevika campaign conducted a workshop for JMC on Urban Street Vendor Policy and Road Map for Jaipur on 9 March 2011. Top officials of JMC including the Chief Executive Officer who would work on the implementation of the policy in the city participated in the workshop.
