Chief Operating Officer

The CCS looks for a COO to lead the next phase of consolidation and growth. It would focus not just on operations but also on building a leadership team and organization as a whole. Senior Research Coordinator

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post graduate degree in social sciences or public policy with focus and experience in one or preferably more areas of CCS focus:education, governance, and livelihood
  • Relevant experience in research and leading teams of atleast 5 years.
  • Excellent writing skills for research papers as well as mass publications (please attach writing samples with the application).
  • Keen interest in public policy related research.
  • Proven communication and networking skills.
  • Time commitment: Minimum 3 years.
Job Description
  • An opportunity to head the CCS Research Centre, design research projects in accordance with the objectives of the Centre and undertake them.
  • Supervise research associates and interns.
  • Develop literature for the Campaigns of the Centre, write and publish regular articles, research papers, commentaries, legislative analysis of bills to be tabled in the Parliament.
  • Plan and design dialogues, workshops, conferences on the research outputs.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures at CCS seminars for students, policy makers, professors and general public.
  • Represent CCS at academic and policy institutions.
  • Identify and plan for research needs.
  • Lead the research team, coordinate the fellowship program.

Program Associate

The Centre for Civil Society in New Delhi is looking for a Program Associate.  We offer a wide range of very exciting and diverse programs for a range of audiences including college students, journalists, MPs, bureaucrats, teachers and professors.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in organizing events , workshops, seminars
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Excellent organization skills, leadership skills and attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of computers (MS Office, Internet, email)
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • College graduate with 2 years work experience
  • Age up to 35 years

Job Description

  • Program execution as per plan and deadlines including media coordination and program evaluation
  • Managing the programs like seminars, dialogues, policy meets, documentary festival
  • Room for constant improvisation and change in methods and content depending on feedback and personal experience
  • Commitment for at least two years

 

Campaign Associate

CCS is running a national campaign to reform informal sector. The vision of the project is to achieve legal recognition for the informal sector entrepreneurs so that they can focus on their livelihood activities without undue harassment and humiliations by public authorities or private mafias. We are looking for young, energetic, self motivated, result oriented and committed person to work in our Jaipur office as Campaign Associate. The ideal candidate would be with wide range of experience of working with people and government of different levels.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • The candidate should be post graduate in Social Work or Allied Discipline with minimum 2 years of relevant experience of working with community. Experience of working on livelihood issue would be preferable.
  • Skills of mobilization, motivation, leadership and event management.
  • Experience in organizing programs at community level such as group meetings, mass meetings, trainings, workshops, seminars etc.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent organization, mobilization, leadership skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of computer (MS Office, Internet, email) with communication skill in Hindi and English. Knowledge of Hindi Typing is desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Time commitment: Minimum 1 year.

Job Description

  • Coordination of outreach activities of the campaign.
  • Planning, designing and execution of tools of mass awareness and mobilization such as street plays, dialogues, trainings, workshops, conferences.
  • Communication and liaisoning with government officers at different levels and other stake holders for solution of the problems of target community.
  • Program execution as per plan and deadlines including media coordination and program evaluation.
  • Managing the programs like seminars, dialogues, policy meets etc.

 

Assistant to the President

Responsibilities

  • Manage President’s schedule, correspondence, and documentation
  • Coordinate board and networking meetings, seminars, conferences and travel
  • Prepare policy briefings, talking points, speeches, presentations and proposals
  • Do short research on policy issues for input into writing and publications
  • Be the all-round helping hand

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience required; master’s degree preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity and professional discretion
  • Expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook essential; knowledge of social media use desirable
  • Comfort and experience in dealing with people from different backgrounds with different levels of responsibility.
  • Desire to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven organization.
