an opportunity to learn new skills and to develop
existing ones. All volunteers get to attend
exciting events, meet new people and personalities
and are provided certificates at the end of
the term. What volunteers do at CCS is unique
and expands the participant’s knowledge
expanse. With so many different volunteering
opportunities on offer at the Centre, there's
bound to be something to suit you.
Volunteering at CCS varies from promoting youth
programs, advocacy of CCS campaigns, media interaction,
event management, visits to educational institutions

Balawansuk A.Lynrah: Volunteer at Centre for Civil Society
Volunteering is a platform for learning and growing through hands-on practice and it also gives an opportunity for an individual to contribute towards the organization as well as welfare of the society by way of involving in the works of an organization. It gives me great pleasure to volunteer at Center for Civil Societies (CCS) one of the esteemed Welfare Organization of Delhi as I dedicate my time for the Jeevika Festival 2011, an annual festival where documentaries on various social issues by various film makers will be screened.
I am basically involved in coordinating the volunteers for the festival along with a few administrative tasks. Coordinating involves following up and assisting the volunteers regarding activities to be carried out by them during the event.
Through my involvement with CCS I have gained insights into myself and my capabilities. I have been able to reaffirm my existing skills and develop new skills as well. I have also been able to make new friends and developed a bond of friendship with the staff of CCS who has always been supportive and encouraging as I carry on my work every day.
